Anyone Can Learn to Cook … I’m Proof of That!
My mom rarely let me help her cook, fearing I would make a mess – and I didn’t learn much by making mud pies in the summer for the dog! So I had minimal cooking skills when I got married. I mastered a few simple dishes over time, but I was far from comfortable in my kitchen. When I started my first home business in 1995, I no longer had the stresses of frequent business trips and weekends filled with errands. I finally had the time to learn to cook! My husband and I suffered through many failures, but eventually most of my dishes were edible. Today I enjoy trying new recipes (often improvising) and think I’ve become a fairly good cook. An Important Discovery My favorite meal is breakfast, although I could eat scrambled eggs, bacon, etc., any time of the day. When I discovered the world of “brunch,” I fell in love with the idea. How perfect – a reason to eat the foods I love later in the day! Easy Entertaining Solution I soon had many brunch ideas and realized it would be an easy, fun way to entertain. You may think brunch is best as a “girls only” gathering, but it isn’t true. Include a hearty egg casserole or biscuits and gravy, and just try keeping the guys away! Try It! Happy Cooking!
